THE PRESENT PERFECT

We use the Present Perfect to talk about an indefinite time in the past, it means that we don’t say exactly when the action happened.

How to talk about THE AGES in English

El significado literal de How old are you?  en español es ¿Cuán viejo eres?

How old is /How old are

Decimos “years old” para decir “años cumplidos”

Vamos  a utilizar el "Verbo To be" dependiendo del Sujeto al cual nos referimos.

How old is she/he/it?
How old are you/we/they?

También existen otras expresiones que podemos utilizar como “early/mid/late”, cuando no queremos especificar cuántos años exactamente tenemos.

Early = tempranos
Mid = intermedios
Late =tardios

Si digo : “I am in my early twenties” “Estoy en mis tempranos veintes” (Significa que puedo tener 20, 21,22,23)
Si digo “I am in my mid thirties” “Estoy en mis treinta intermedios” (Significa que puedo tener 24,25,26”
Si digo “I am in my late forties” “Estoy en mis cuarenta tardíos” (Significa que puedo tener 27,28,29)

Pero si, no quieres revelar tu edad, no hay problema, aquí tienes unas expresiones útiles :
“I would rather not say” “Prefiero no decirlo”
“A lady never tells her age” “Una dama nunca dice su edad”
“I don’t want to say” “No quiero decirlo”
“None of your business” “¡Que te importa!”
