ALSO , TOO and AS WELL (¿Cómo decir “también” de diferentes formas:)


ALSO = Subject + also +verb
TOO = At the end of the sentence

Examples:
I also visited Sao Paulo = I visited Sao Paulo, too.
Yo también visité Sao Paulo = Yo visité Sao Paulo, también.

She also plays the piano = She plays the piano, too.
Ella también toca el piano = Ella toca el piano también.

They also study medicine = They study medicine, too.
Ellas también estudian medicina = Ellas estudian medicina,también.

WE CAN USE ALSO IN THREE DIFFERENT POSITIONS : 
Podemos usar “also” en tres diferentes posiciones.
1)      “ALSO” BEFORE THE VERB
“Also” antes del verbo
I also speak French. (Yo también hablo Francés)

2)      AFTER MODALS (Can, could, Might, may, should)
I can also play the guitar . (Yo puedo también tocar la guitarra)
I can also speak Portuguese. (Yo puedo también hablar Portugues)
You can also come with us. (Tú puedes también venir con nosotros)
She can also go to the concert. (Ella puede también ir al concierto)
We can also go out for dinner. (Nosotros podemos también salir a cenar)

3)      “ALSO” after the verb to be
        I am an administrator, I am also a teacher.(Soy una administradora. Soy también una profesora)
  She is a good Singer, she is also a good dancer. (Ella es una buena cantante, ella es también una buena bailarina)

“ALSO” también puede ir delante de la oración, para dar énfasis y ello significará además:
I met Brad Pitt yesterday. Also he agreed to sign me an autograph.
Conoci a Brad Pitt ayer. Además el accedió a firmarme un autógrafo.
TOO and AS WELL for short answers: “too” y “as well” para respuestas cortas:
Me too = Yo también
I did as well = También lo hice.

Example:
A)      I watched the soccer game yesterday.
B)      Me too.
A)      Vi el partido de futbol ayer.
B)      Yo también

A)      I watched the soccer game yesterday.
B)      I did as well
A)      Vi el partido de futbol ayer.
B)      También lo hice.

Para expresar deseos para el prójimo, usamos “TOO”
A)      Well,see you later. Enjoy your dinner.
B)      Thanks, you enjoy yours, too.
A)      Bueno, nos vemos mas tarde. Disfruta tu cena.
B)      Gracias, disfruta la tuya, también.

Para saludos usamos TOO.

A)      Nice to meet you.
B)      Nice to meet you, too
A)      Gusto en conocerte
B)      Gusto en conocerte, también.
A)      It’s a pleasure to meet you.
B)      It’s a pleasure to meet you, too.
A)      Es un placer conocerte.
B)      Es un placer conocerte, también.

THE MIXED CONDITIONAL: El condicional mixto


Remember: A conditional sentence has two parts: The condition and the result.
Recuerda: Una oración condicional tiene 2 partes: La condición y el resultado.

En una oración condicional es posible que las dos clausulas se refieran a dos tiempos distintos.
Existen 2 tipos de oraciones condicionales mixtas:

       RESULTADO ACTUAL DE UNA CONDICION SITUADA EN EL PASADO

The condition : Past Perfect
La condición : Pasado Perfecto

The Result : Present Conditional
El resultado : Presente Condicional

Example:
If I had studied harder at school, I would have a better job now.
Si hubiera estudiado más duro en la escuela, tendría un mejor trabajo ahora.

I would have a better job now if I had studied harder at school.
Tendria un mejor trabajo ahora si hubiera estudiado mas duro en la escuela.

If I had practiced, I would have my driving license.
Si hubiera practicado, tendría mi permiso de conducir.

2    RESULTADO EN EL PASADO DE UNA CONDICION ACTUAL

The condition: The Simple Past tense
Result Clause : Perfect Conditional
If this thing  happen, that thing would have happened.

Example:
-          If I wasn’t in the middle of a meeting, I would have been happy to help you.
-          Si no estuviera en medio de una reunión, me hubiera encantado ayudarte.

-          I would have been happy to help youif I wasn’t in the middle of a meeting.
-          Me hubiera encantado ayudarte si no estuviera en medio de una reunión.

-          If I wasn’t afraid of spiders, I would have picked it up.
-          Si no tuviera miedo de las arañas, la habría recogido.

-          If she wasn’t afraid of flying, she wouldn’t have travelled by boat.
-          Si ella no tuviera miedo de volar, no habría viajado en bote.

-          I’d have been able to translate the letter if my Italian was better.
-          Habria podido traducir la carta si mi Italiano fuera mejor.

-          If she was a good cook, she’d have invited us to lunch.
-          Si ella fuera una buena cocinera, nos habría invitado a almorzar.

THE THIRD CONDITIONAL: El Condicional de tipo 3


Remember a conditional sentence has two parts: The condition and the result.
Recuerda una oración condicional tiene dos partes : La condición y el resultado.

El condicional de tipo 3 nos sirve para hablar sobre una condición imposible situada temporalmente en el pasado cuyo resultado es probable. La característica principal de este tipo de oraciones es que son hipotéticas e irreales porque en este momento ya es demasiado tarde para que la condición o su resultado se produzca.

El condicional de tipo 3 implica cierto grado de arrepentimiento, es decir que nos lamentamos por no haber hecho algo. Es to quiere decir que la realidad es totalmente diferente a lo que planteamos en esta oración.

Para el condicional de tipo 3 trabajamos con “THE PERFECT CONDITIONAL”, y este está compuesto por 3 elementos:

PERFECT CONDITIONAL :

WOULD + HAVE + VERB (Past Participle)
Examples : Ejemplos:

-          If I had known you were in the hospital, I would have visited you.
-          Si hubiese sabido que estaba en el hospital, te habría visitado.

-          I would have bought  you a present if I’d known it was your birthday.
-          Te habría comprado un regalo si hubiese sabido que fue tu cumpleaños.

-          If you had given me your email, I would have written to you.
-          Si me hubieras dado tu correo electrónico, te habría escrito.

In the third conditional we can also use modals in the main clause.
En el condicional de tipo 3 podemos también usar verbos modales en la clausula principal.

-If I had studies harder, I might have passed the exam.
Si hubiera estudiado más, podría haber aprobado el examen.

THE SECOND CONDITIONAL – El Condicional de Tipo 2



Remember in a conditional sentence we have 2 clauses: The condition and the result clause.
Recuerda en una oración condicional tenemos 2 clausulas: La condición y la cláusula del resultado.

The Second conditional is also known as the “UNREAL CONDITIONAL”
El condicional de tipo 2 también es conocido como “El condicional irreal”

Th estructure is: La estructura es:
The condition clause: The Simple Past
La cláusula de la condición: Pasado Simple

The Result Clause : The Present Conditional / The Present Continuous Conditional.
La clausula del Resultado: El Presente Condicional/ El Presente Continuo Condicional.

2 situations : 2 situaciones
If this thing happened, that thing would happen.
Si esto ocurriese, esto otro ocurriría.

If this thing happened, that thing woul be happening.
Si esto ocurriese, esto otro estaría ocurriendo.

Example:
If I spoke Italian, I would be working in Italy.
Si hablase Italiano, estaría trabajando en Italia.

If I were you, I would give up smoking.
Si fuese tu, dejaría de fumar.

If I were a plant , I would love the rain
Si fuese una planta, amaría la lluvia.

In the second conditional we can use other modals: En el segundo condicional podemos usar otros verbos modales:

We might buy a bigger house if we had more money.
Podriamos comprar una casa más grande si tuviéramos más dinero.

He could go to the concert if you gave him the ticket.
El pudiera ir al concierto si tu le dieras el boleto.

If I were you, I wouldn’t do that.
Si fuese tu, no haría eso.

THE FIRST CONDITIONAL: El condicional de tipo 1


Remember we have 2 clauses : The Condition clause (If Clause) and The Result Clause
Recuerda que tenemos 2 clausulas: La cláusula de la condición (If clause) y la clausula del resultado.

CONDITION: Verb Present Simple
La condición: El verbo en Presente Simple

RESULT : THE SIMPLE FUTURE :WILL/WON’T
El resultado: El futuro simple: will/won’t

IF THIS THING HAPPEN, THAT THING WILL HAPPEN
Si esta cosa ocurre, esta otra cosa ocurrirá

We use this conditional to talk about probable results.
Usamos este condicional para hablar sobre resultados probables.

Remember we can change the order of the clauses
Recuerda que podemos cambiar el orden de las clausulas

If you are late again, I will be mad.
Si te haces tarde de nuevo,estaré enojada.
I will be mad if you are late again.
Estaré enojada si te haces tarde de nuevo.

If you don’t hurry, you will miss the bus.
Si no te apuras, perderás el bus.
You will miss the bus if you don’t hurry
Perderás el bus, si no te apuras.

If I have time, I will go shopping
Si tengo tiempo, iré de compras
I will go shopping if I have time.
Iré de compras si tengo tiempo.

What will you do if you miss the train?
¿Qué harás si pierdes el tren?

If you don’t leave, I will call the pólice.
Si no te vas, llamaré a la policía.

In the first conditional you can use other modals like : might, may, should.
En el condicional de tipo 1 , puedes usar otros verbos modales como: “might”, “may”, "should"

If you drop that glass ,it may break.
Si se te cae el vaso, se puede romper.

I might finish the poem, if I have time.
Acabaría el poema si tengo tiempo.

If they call, you should go
Si ellos llaman, tu deberías ir.

THE ZERO CONDITIONAL – El condicional de tipo 0

Conditional Sentences have two clauses: The Conditional Clause or If clause and the Result clause
Oraciones condicionales tienen dos clausulas. La cláusula de la condición o “la cláusula si” y la cláusula del resultado.

THE ZERO CONDITIONAL

The Structure is: The simple present tense
La estructura gramatical es : El tiempo presente simple.

Remember: You can replace “if” with “when” or “whenever”
Recuerda: Puedes reemplazar”si” con “cuando” o “cuando sea”.

The relationship is: If this thing happens, that thing happens.
La relación es : Si esta cosa ocurre, esta otra cosa ocurre.

You can change the order of the clauses.
Puedes cambiar el orden de las clausulas.

We use the Zero conditional to talk about real actions.
Usamos el condicional de tipo cero para hablar sobre acciones reales

If it rains, flights are late.
Si llueve, los vuelos se atrazan.

Flights are late if it rains.
Los vuelos se atrasan si llueve.

In my Company if cashiers make a mistake, they repay the money.
En mi compañía si los cajeros cometen un error, ellos reponen el dinero.

Plants die if they don’t get enough water.
Las plantas se mueren, si ellas no tienen suficiente agua.

The zero conditional for imperatives:

If Jhon calls, tell him to meet me in the restaurant.
Si Jhon llama, dile que me encuentre en el restaurante.

Ask the teacher if you are not sure what to do.
Preguntale al profesor si no estás seguro que hacer.

If you want to come, call me before 5.
Si quieres venir, llamame antes de las 5

Describing myfavorite movie:

My favorite movie is “Life is wonderful”. This is an Italian film, this is a completely emotional movie. I can only use possitive adjectives to describe this movie. I can say this movie is romantic, funny, interesting and unforgettable. Guido who is the main character of this movie, only wanted to protect his son from the war. He was a very creative person and used a lot of humor by telling his child it was all part of a game, so the kid was excited because he wanted more points to win the game, in that way the Little boy obeyed his father all the time, so he was in silence all the time, he behaved well. Well at the end of the movie the father died to sabe his child. I can say this movie is a masterpiece. I love this movie and I have seen it like ten times.

WOULD RATHER TO EXPRESS PREFERENCES = “WOULD RATHER” para hablar sobre preferencias



WOULD RATHER = preferirira, es preferible, me gustaría mas
WOULD PREFER = también nos sirve para hablar de preferencias
La diferencia entre “WOULD RATHER” y “WOULD PREFER” es en la estructura:
WOULD RATHER + BASE FORM / WOULD PREFER + INFINITIVE
Afirmative Statements

SUBJETC + WOULD RATHER(‘d rather) + VERB BASE FORM + COMPLEMENT

I would rather see a less violent film = Preferiria ver una película menos violenta.

SUBJECT + WOULD PREFER + INFINITIVE + COMPLEMENT

I would prefer to see a less violent film = Preferiría ver una película menos violenta.

She would rather go to a rock concert = Ella preferiría ir a un concierto de rock.

Negative statements:

SUBJECT + WOULD RATHER NOT (‘d rather not) + VERB BASE FORM + COMPLEMENT
I would rather not eat at home = Yo preferiría no comer en casa.

He would rather not wear a uniform. = El no preferiría vestir un uniforme.

Yes/ No Questions:

WOULD + SUBJECT + RATHER + VERB (BASE FORM) + COMPLEMENT?

Would she rather dance or sing? = Preferiria ella bailar o cantar

Information Questions:

THE PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS


Since = Desde
For = Por/durante

Affirmative statements:

SUBJECT + HAVE/HAS + BEEN + VERB(ING) + COMPLEMENT

Utilizamos HAVE con :
I have= I’ve
You have = You’ve
We have = We’ve
They have = They’ve

Utilizamos HAS con:
She has = She’s
He has = He’s
It has = It’s

Example: (Ejemplo)
I’ve been living here since 2010.
He estado viviendo aquí desde el 2010.
I’ve been living here for 10 years.
He estado viviendo aquí durante 10 años.

Negative Statements: Oraciones Negativas:

SUBJECT + HAVE NOT / HAS NOT + BEEN + VERB(ING) + COMPLEMENT

Susan has been studying in the National school since 2012
Susan ha estado estudiando en la escuela nacional desde 2012.

Yes/No question:

HAVE / HAS + SUBJECT + BEEN + VERB (ING) + COMPLEMENT?

Has Robert been waiting Nicol for 10 minutes?

Information Question:

THE PRESENT PERFECT


We use the Present Perfect to talk about an indefinite time in the past, it means that we don’t say exactly when the action happened.

Utilizamos el tiempo Presente Perfecto para hablar sobre un tiempo indefinido (general) en el pasado, esto significa que no decimos exactamente cuándo la acción ocurrió.

Ejemplo:
I have met Bill twice = Me reuní con Bill dos veces
En el ejemplo anterior no dice exactamente cuándo ocurre la acción.

Structure: (Estructura)
Form the Present Perfect with HAVE or HAS and a past participle. Remember that for REGULAR VERBS, the past participle form is the same as the Simple Past form.
Forma el Presente Perfecto con HAVE o HAS y el pasado participio. Recuerda que para los verbos regulares, la forma del pasado participio es la misma que la forma del pasado simple.

AFFIRMATIVE STATEMENTS: (Oraciones afirmativas)
Subject + have/has+Verb(past participle) + C

El uso de los auxiliares Have y Has depende del sujeto: A continuación la lista con sus respectivas contracciones:

I have = I’ve  =Yo he
You have = You’ve =Tú has
We have = We’ve = Nosotros hemos
They have = They’ve= Ellos han
He has = He’s=  El ha
She has = She’s =Ella ha
It has = It’s Esto ha

En el tiempo presente perfecto, es común que utilizemos palabras como “since” “for”.

Since means “desde”. We use SINCE with a specific time in the past.
“Since” significa “desde”. Nosotros utilizamos “since” con un tiempo específico en el pasado.

For means “por”. We use FOR to describe a period of time.
“For” significa “por”. Utilizamos “for” para describir un periodo de tiempo

Example (ejemplo)
How long have you been here? ¿Cuánto tiempo has estado aquí?
I’ve been here since 9 o’clock =He estado aquí desde las 9 en punto.
I’ve been here for 10 minutes = He estado aquí por 10 minutos.
Ambas oraciones significan lo mismo, suponiendo que son las 9:10


I’ve learned different languages = Yo he aprendido diferentes idiomas.
You’ve studied a lot = Tú has estudiado mucho.
He’s eaten in the Japanese restaurant = El ha comido en el restaurante Japones
She’s bought a red bag in the supermarket = Ella ha comprado un bolso rojo en el supermercado.
It’s been nice =Esto ha sido agradable
We’ve visited Machu Picchu twice = Nosotras hemos visitado Machu Picchu dos veces.
They’ve won the competence = Ellos han ganado la competencia.

NEGATIVE STATEMENTS (Oraciones Negativas)
Subject + haven’t/hasn’t + Verb(Past Participle) + Complement.

I haven’t studied English = No he estudiado Inglés.
I haven’t tried Italian food = Yo no he probado comida Italiana.
You haven’t read that famous book = Tú no haz leído ese famoso libro.
He hasn’t visited his parents for a long time = El no ha visitado a sus padres por un largo tiempo.
She hasn’t worked for that Company = Ella no ha trabajado para esa compañía
We haven’t found the children = Nosotros no hemos encontrado a los niños.
They haven’t seen Marvel’s latest movie = Ellos no han visto la última película de Marvel.

QUESTIONS:
Para oraciones interrogativas, es común utilizar las siguientes palabras para dar énfasis a la oración:

YET /ALREADY/EVER/BEFORE/RECENTLY/JUST/STILL/SO FAR
A continuación las reglas de su uso:

YET/ALREADY = Nos sirven para hablar de experiencias recientes.
EVER/BEFORE = Nos sirven para hablar de experiencias ocurridas en el transcurso de nuestras vidas.
YET/BEFORE = Son utilizadas al final de la pregunta
ALREADY/EVER= Son utilizadas entre el sujeto y el verbo.

YES/NO QUESTIONS (Preguntas de sí y no)
Have/Has + Subject + Verb (Past Participle) + Complement?

Have you tried ceviche? = ¿Has probado ceviche?
Have you already tried ceviche?  Or Have you tried ceviche yet? =¿Ya has probado ceviche?
Has she been to Trujillo? = ¿Ha estado ella en Trujillo?
Has she ever been to Trujillo? ¿Ha estado ella alguna vez en Trujillo?
Have you ever visited Peru? ¿Alguna vez haz visitado Perú?
Have you taken potos of Machu Picchu? ¿Has tomado fotos de Machu Picchu?
Have you drunk “Pisco”? ¿Has bebido Pisco?

INFORMATION QUESTIONS (Preguntas de Información)
Wh Word + have/has+ Subject + Verb (Past Participle) + complement?
What cities have you visited? ¿Qué ciudades haz visitado?
How many EasyEnglish Tv videos have you seen? ¿Cuántos videos de EasyEnglishTv has visto?
What sports have you practiced? ¿Qué deportes haz practicado?
What kind of music have you listened to? ¿Qué tipo de música haz escuchado?
